Road Trip Series (iii)

Posted by
Lesley (Lincoln, United States) on 15 June 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This is a tighter shot of yesterday's image. I think I like this one better. You can almost make out a little bit of rotation in that cloud! Yes, it is tornado season in Nebraska.

Alun from cheshire, United Kingdom

Really love that sky

15 Jun 2009 5:35am

@Alun: As do I, Alun. It's wonderful to get out of town and be able to see for miles and miles. I can't wait to return to this area when the sunflowers and corn are as high as an elephant's eye (by the Fourth of July).

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

Yes much punchier

15 Jun 2009 10:10am

@grouser: I thought so, too.

MrsAmber from West Wickham, United Kingdom

Interestingly, I still prefer yesterday's shot myself..but I do like that cloud twirl..its a bit sinister knowing its Tornado season.

15 Jun 2009 10:48am

@MrsAmber: So does my husband, Kate. I think I like the cloud in this one. And, yes, it is a bit sinister. As I reply to your comment several days after this photo posted, we have just had a series of tornadoes in the area this week. Quite unsettling, but fortunately none in our city!

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

Dramatic clouds and a cool fence. Great image.

15 Jun 2009 5:02pm

@Steve Rice: Thanks so much, Steve. I love that fence, too. Maybe I was a cowboy in a previous life?

PD from Overland Park, Kansas, United States

Great clouds - looks like Kansas!

15 Jun 2009 5:52pm

@PD: I don't think we're in Kansas anymore. ;)

Graham Russon from Cape Town, South Africa

Stunning shot. Great composition

15 Jun 2009 6:59pm

@Graham Russon: Thanks, Graham! Gotta get back to visiting your blog. I've been so busy with work and the yard, my blog-hopping has suffered!

Dawn from Maryland, United States

Great composition and Leslie!! : )

@Dawn: Thanks, Dawn!

Colleen from Canada

Oh I LOVE the prairies! This is a beautiful shot and makes me want to head out to Saskatchewan. :)

16 Jun 2009 12:59am

@Colleen: I do, too, except when the wind blows. Oh, wait. When doesn't the wind blow?! ;)
