@Alun Lambert: Thanks, Alun. I was just happy I didn't get wet! @jamesy: Thanks, Debbie. I love stormy skies, but get a bit nervous if there's lightning. Fortunately, this was a mild storm. Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandWhat a superb sky!!! Beautifully captured!!! 1 Apr 2009 6:12am @Linerberry: Thanks, Liners. It was a bit scary, but nobody seemed to pay it much attention. Just the silly tourist taking pictures of it. ;) Anthony Lambert from Bielefeld, GermanyKeep these sky shots coming, they´re great !! 1 Apr 2009 6:30am @Anthony Lambert: Thanks, Anthony! I'll do another series later. I'm moving on to food next week. :) @john4jack: I felt like I was the only one looking up at it! @grouser: I'm the drama queen of weather! @Laurie: It was, but nobody seemed terribly concerned. Guess they know their weather better than us tourists! @PD: They do, don't they? But they never materialized into anything terribly serious. We wouldn't be so lucky here in the Midwest, would we?! You ready for the snow we're supposed to get this weekend? Sigh. NANNE from NetherlandsHé Lesley,
NANNE from FRIESLAND 1 Apr 2009 6:37pm @NANNE: Thanks for commenting and visiting, Nanne. I'll take a look at your site. Thanks! @Steve Rice: And it actually turned out to be a rather nice evening! Go figure. John Maslowski from Dallas, PA, United StatesThe sky is absolutely breathtaking. A beautiful composition, looks like a lovely place. Great capture. 2 Apr 2009 2:16am @John Maslowski: Your comment is greatly appreciated, John. Yes, it's a gorgeous area. Wish I could retire there! EYES WIDE SHUT from The library of my soul, United KingdomThis is so weird for me Lesley, a photograph taken in the town where my family live. Top the left is the Safeway supermarket where we often shop, that 7-eleven stocks Ben and Jerries tubs of Ice Cream so I'm a happy bunny! Past the 7-eleven on the far right corner is my breakfast place of choice, with fabulous breakfast skillets. Back to the right and behind us are the banks where I change my British pounds up eagerly for Canadian dollars and of course further behind us the beautiful Marina and glorious walk. This could be a shot from my own photo album. My mum used to live a few blocks up from Safeway and my family live a few roads away. The highway just past those traffic lights, takes you left towards Victoria, and nefore that, Beaver lake which is a magnificent walk. I could go on....... ha ha 2 Apr 2009 3:39am @EYES WIDE SHUT: And I've been in the Safeway you're referring to! We only ate out once or twice, I think, since we cooked on the boat, so I'm not familiar with your breakfast spot. Oh, we did get ice cream at a place on the corner down by the waterfront near a fancy hotel (and possibly a round-about?). Glad you enjoyed the photo, Paul. I working on another series I think you'll enjoy! |
