I See the Moon...

First Day of Winter

The Moon

That orbed' maiden
With white fire laden
Whom mortals call the Moon.

- Shelley

Another photo I took early one morning last year. The current moon phase is 50% of full.

I love the composition of this photo, Les! Well done!

@Bookfool: Thanks, Nancy. I suspect you saw it when it was originally posted on my book blog. I decided to dig through my archives for the first day of winter. Far too cold to shoot something new!

Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New Zealand

What a beautiful simple image:-) Love it Lesely! Hope work wasn't too busy for ya:-)

21 Dec 2008 6:14am

@Linerberry: Thanks, Liners. I was so surprised this photo turned out as it did. It was early morning (6:30) and I was on my way to work, so I was in a hurry and not terribly wide-awake!

Ah, work is super busy, but it'll slow down in another day or so. Tomorrow, however, will be insane! ;)

and the moon sees me.
Apologies for the ear worm
.....nice term
Hadn't come across it before.

21 Dec 2008 11:43am

@grouser: Aw, not to worry. I rather like the song. :)

Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United States

"...and the moon sees me." Almost an abstract, Lesley.

21 Dec 2008 5:23pm

@Stephen Phillips: You're right, it is almost an abstract. I do like it and am pleased it turned out better than I imagined.

Michael Rawluk from Williams Lake, BC, Canada

The moon has attracted the eyes of people for as long as there have been people. The branches really make it a lovely shot.

21 Dec 2008 6:52pm

@Michael Rawluk: I agree. A simple shot of the moon against a bare sky would be a bit boring. Guess I should thank my neighbors for their lovely old tree, in spite of all the leaves it drops in the fall! ;)

Graham Russon from Cape Town, South Africa

Well spotted and taken, this is a lovely shot.

21 Dec 2008 8:00pm

@Graham Russon: Thanks, Graham. Much appreciated!
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
