In the Forest

Posted by Lesley (Lincoln, United States) on 2 December 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.

@grouser: Isn't that the truth! I suppose that's why I always feel like I'm in a church when I walk in those woods.

@willow: Thanks, Willow. I was practically lying on the ground to get this shot. We have blue sky today, but no leaves. Just snow. And cold (27F). Glad you enjoyed this. I appreciate your comments!

Josh from Pasadena, United States

I'm always enthralled by pictures like this, attempts to capture the beauty and randomness of a sea of trees! This is a good one, especially your perspective...it really gives a sense of grandeur to the size of the trees
