It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.

@melodia: I would, too! Winter has arrived here in Nebraska. It snowed this morning. I'm ready to get back to Oregon and enjoy this forest. I'll be there in 7 months!

@willow: Thanks, Willow. I was practically lying on the ground to get this shot. We have blue sky today, but no leaves. Just snow. And cold (27F). Glad you enjoyed this. I appreciate your comments!

I'm always enthralled by pictures like this, attempts to capture the beauty and randomness of a sea of trees! This is a good one, especially your perspective...it really gives a sense of grandeur to the size of the trees
